Rattan<\/b>, a popular shopping outlet in Venezuela, has become the latest retailer in the country to announce it will start accepting payments in\u00a0bitcoin (BTC)<\/a>\u00a0and a number of altcoins.<\/p>\n Per a\u00a0tweet<\/a>\u00a0from media outlet Criptolugares that was reposted by crypto exchange\u00a0Cryptobuyer<\/b>, the trading platform has struck a deal with Rattan that will initially see the Plaza branch of the Rattan supermarket network, one of the busiest retailers on the island of Margarita, in the state of Nueva Esparta.<\/p>\n The deal will allow Rattan Plaza shoppers to spend bitcoin in store using Cryptobuyer\u2019s Cryptobuyer Pay solution, as well as\u00a0litecoin (LTC)<\/a>,\u00a0dash (DASH)<\/a>,\u00a0ethereum (ETH)<\/a>,\u00a0binance coin (BNB)<\/a>,\u00a0dai (DAI)<\/a>,\u00a0tether (USDT)<\/a>\u00a0and Cryptobuyer\u2019s own native ERC-20-based cryptoasset.<\/p>\n The news comes hot on the heels of an announcement last month, also by Cryptobuyer, that it had\u00a0sealed a deal<\/a>\u00a0with the Venezuelan supermarket chain\u00a0Excelsior Gama<\/b>. Like the Rattan deal, the Excelsior Gama agreement allows shoppers at the latter to send the same set of eight cryptoassets instead of fiat bolivars.<\/p>\n
